Italy Favorites & Life Update!!

Helllo!! I am back from Italy and a FIANCE!! So insane I am still on cloud 9, but I am so excited to share all of my favorite recommendations from Italy! It’s been crazy between coming home 2 days late because of delays, engagement stuff, and getting back to work. I am finally sitting down to write this post that I am so excited to share with you all!

I wanted to create a travel guide with some of my favorites from my trip. And of course share my engagement story!! Below is a recap of all of my favorite recs from my trip to Italy.

Lake Como Favorites:

We started our trip in Lake Como which was an actual dream! I highly recommend coming here. We stayed for 2 nights and I think that was a really good amount of time.

Filario HotelThis is the hotel we stayed at and I loved it so much. It was a beautiful property, had amazing views of the lake, and delicious food. I cannot wait to go back! It was a 20 minute drive to Bellagio, but the ferries are also pretty easy to get around the lake during the day.

Bellagio – Probably the most famous town to visit and it was my favorite! It was such cute town. My top rec is to go to Hotel Florence, sit outside and grab a drink overlooking the lake. The view is amazing. They also have a massive cocktail menu so be sure to check it out! Then walk up into town and grab some pasta or pizza for lunch in a small mom and pop type restaurant.

Hotel Belvedere – We went here for dinner and it was amazing. It was one of my favorite dinners. The views of the lake are beautiful, and the vibe of the restaurant is just so nice. The wine and food were delicious – I highly recommend it!

Boat day on the lake – A must do in Lake Como and one of my favorite days of the trip. We used Lake Como Water Taxi, linked here. The boat was so nice, stocked with water and Prosecco, and the driver was the best! We toured around the lake and got to see a lot of the towns and all the beautiful villas on the lake.

Tuscany Favorites:

Wine Tour – A must do in Tuscany. The wine is so much better in Italy because it doesn’t have any sulfates and a lot of the vineyards don’t spray any pesticides on the grapes. I was drinking all day and didn’t feel like crap like I usually do when I drink all day.

Cooking Class – We did a cooking class that our Hotel recommended, and it was so fun. We literally went into a family’s home that lived in the Italian countryside and cooked in their kitchen. It was honestly so wholesome. The spread we made was unreal and one of the best meals of the trip!! This class was so different and authentic. I highly recommend doing it if you are in the area. I am linking the class we did here.

Florence – If you’re staying in Tuscany you can definitely do a day trip to Florence. Depending on where you stay in Tuscany you can drive into the city or take the train. We took the train into Florence for the day and it was honestly so easy. I studied abroad in Florence so the city has a very special place in my heart! We walked around and explored then ended the day at View on Art cocktail bar. If you’re in Florence absolutely grab a drink at this spot. The views of the Duomo are unreal.

Capri Favorites:

Capri was one of my favorite places. I would highly suggest staying in Capri for a night to two rather than just going for the day. I’ve done both and something about actually staying in Capri is so special and so worth it.

Capri Tiberio PalaceThis hotel is one of my favorite hotels. It was absolutely beautiful and in a great location. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the views were amazing. If you stay here go to the bar for some drinks before dinner, it’s a really nice vibe.

Terrazza Brunella – One of my favorite restaurants on the trip. The views from here are absolutely stunning and food is delicious. You get to see the whole island and it is truly amazing and breathtaking. It was one of the most blissful and romantic nights.

La Fontelina Beach Club – A very popular beach club in Capri. The beach club books up quickly so try to make a reservation as soon as possible. Depending on where you are staying, you can take a water taxi there or walk there. If you walk, warning there are a TON of steps. We walked because it was much easier from our hotel and it was no easy feat. But worth it!

Amalfi Coast Favorites:

La Scogliera Beach Club – This beach club is in Positano and it was my favorite beach club!! The views of Positano are so beautiful and the service was amazing. I highly recommend going here if you’re in Positano. You also have to make a reservation and pay for a spot. I like that they have different price points for spots and that you can pick the spot you want.

La Conca del Sogno – A gem of a beach club that you can only get to by boat. We went here for lunch during our boat day and it was honestly amazing. The food was delicious and the place was just beautiful. If you do a boat day, definitely go here for lunch.

Boat day – I think a boat day is so worth it because it allows you to see the towns on the Amalfi Coast without having to go and stop in each town. Nothing beats the view of Positano from the water. It also allows you to visit the Grotto’s. The Blue Grotto is the most famous, but you can only see it under the right weather and tide circumstances. We unfortunately were not able to go in. That just means we will have to go back!

Right in front of the Faraglioni rocks in Capri is where I got engaged!! It was so special and magical and romantic. My fiancé did good!! There is just something about the Faraglioni rocks that is so breathtakingly beautiful. Don’t forget to go through the rocks & kiss for a lifetime of good luck!

This was definitely a trip of a lifetime. I am so grateful that I was able to take a trip like this, and I do not think this will be the last. My fiancé and I were hesitant at first, because it’s not exactly cheap, but I am so happy we made it work. I hope you found this post very helpful!
